Terminal for Kids Help Center

Dear TfK parents,

Welcome to the Terminal for Kids app. To help you familiarise yourself with the app quickly and easily, you will find an overview and explanation of all functions here in the help centre. However, should you have any problems using the app, please do not hesitate to contact the management of your TfK institution. We hope you enjoy using the app.

News feed

In the news feed you can find important information such as invitations, daily activities and pictures. It can be accessed by tapping “news feed” in the lower left hand corner.

You can view the news feed of a single child or all your children at once. You can change this by swiping the profile pictures in the top of the screen.


With the “calendar” function you can get an overview of various activities related to your child. It can be accessed by tapping “calendar” in the bottom of the screen.

It is possible to filter the calendar so that it shows daily, weekly or monthly activities. Choose your preference in the top of the screen.

By pressing the small funnel in the upper right corner, you can filter for type(s) of events.
Drop off & Pick up

With this feature, you can get an overview of your children’s contract hours, as well as change pickup person and times. To access the menu, proceed as follows:

  1. Tap “Drop off & Pick up”
  2. Choose child
  3. Here, you can change pick-up time and person for a specific day. Do so by tapping the day you would like to change.
  4. Tap the information you would like to change.
  5. Change it, and confirm by tapping “save” in the upper right corner.

You can also create a repeating weekly schedule by pressing “repeating weeks” in the top right corner.

  1. Tap the schedule you would like to change, or create a new one by tapping the plus sign in the upper right corner.
  2. Make your changes and confirm.

In the app, you can easily report if your child is ill.

  1. Tap “Illness”
  2. Choose child. You can choose both, if they are ill at the same time.
  1. Enter the expected end date of your child’s illness. You can change this later.
  2. Add symptoms and a comment if necessary (can also be left blank) and confirm on the checkmark
In the same function “illness” you will be able to end or prolong the illness. Do so by holding your finger on the illness report and then swipe a little to the left as shown. Then tap either “prolong” or “end illness”

You can reach your child/children’s teacher(s) via messenger: In this function it’s possible to write private messages and ask questions, etc.

  2. Tap “Messaging”
  1. Choose child
  2. Write a message and send it. The answer will appear in this page.
Check-in message

You are able to write a check-in message to the teachers. This is useful when your child is going home with another child from the institution, or is being picked up by their grandparents or siblings. Important: These messages must not contain personal information.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Check-in message”
  3. Choose child
  1. Type a message
  2. Specify the date on which the message should be displayed
  3. Confirm

With the function posts, is it possible to see posts that has exceeded their “displayed to” date.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Posts”
  3. Choose a post to view it

When the institution takes pictures of your child/children, you can find these under the function “Gallery”. Here you also have the opportunity to download the pictures to the gallery on your own phone.

  3. Choose a child
  1. Here you can see all the pictures your child is tagged in. Click on the pictures you want to download.
  2. Tap download

With this function you are able to invite or receive invitations from other parents to schedule a playdate in your free time.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Playdates”
  3. Tap the plus sign
  1. Enter the date and time and invite the child. Add comment (can also be left blank)
  2. Confirm the invitation. The parents of the invited child will now be able to accept the invitation under news feed.

In the function, you can register that your child/children will be away from the daycare for a certain period of time.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Vacation”
  3. Choose child. You can choose all children or a single child. 
  1. Enter first and last day of absence
  2. Add a comment if necessary (can also be left blank)
  3. You can also edit an existing vacation period by tapping or swiping on the vacation registration.
Vacation periods

The Vacation Times feature allows parents to indicate whether the parent’s child/children are on vacation during the facility’s vacation times or if they are still attending kindergarten.

  1. Tap “more”
  2. Tap “Vacation periods”
  3. Choose child
  1. Edit vacation time (note response deadline).
    Tapping “Vacation” or “Coming” in the upper right corner will make changes for the entire period.
  2. If you want to change the status on specific days in the vacation period, tap “Vacations” or “Coming” on the date. Change the time by tapping on the period.

You can find other parents’ contact information under the contacts function. In addition, it is possible to give permission to share your own contact information to other parents.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Contacts”
  3. Choose child
  1. Here you see a list of the parents who have shared contact information.
  2. Tap the share icon in the top right corner to share your own contact information.
  3. You can choose if you want to share the information with all parents, or only the ones from your child/children’s group(s).

Standard permissions can be found under index card. If the institution has its own location specific permissions, these must be filled out via the function “Permissions”.

  3. Choose child
  4. Choose the permission by tapping on it
Give permission if the child is allowed to do so, and confirm by pressing the checkmark in the upper right corner.
Index Card

The standard permissions can be found in the function “Index card”. It is very important that this has been filled in, so the teachers know what they are allowed to do.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Tap “Index Card”
  1. Choose child
  2. Fill in the index card.
  3. Confirm by tapping the checkmark in the upper right hand corner.
Contact information

With this function you are able to manage your contact information.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Open settings by tapping the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Tap “my contact information”

Here you can update your contact information. If you make changes, remember to confirm by tapping “done” in the upper right hand corner.

Profile pictures

You can change profile pictures for yourself, your child/children and alternative pick up persons through settings.

  1. Tap “More”
  2. Open settings by tapping the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Tap “profile pictures”
  1. Tap the person for whom you would like to change the profile picture.
  2. Take a picture or choose one from your device.
  3. Crop the picture as desired, and confirm by tapping “done”.
